Mia Parese / LaSalle College Graduation Fashion Show / Gallerie 345 / Toronto

I was asked to be one of 3 photographers at the LaSalle College Graduation Fashion Show this year by the designer behind the Mia Parese name, Mayle Morales Almeida. There were quite a few fashion design graduates and their works were quite diverse. I’ll be sharing photos from those designers in future posts.Made-by-Ten-Mia-Parese-Runway-LaSalle-College-Galleria-345-Toronto-24

The main reason why I wanted to check out the show was to see the newest Mia Parese line. I was asked to shoot her fashion lookbook with the very same clothes. I believe the Made by Ten specialty of bringing out the elegance and beauty in every woman will pair very well together. The pieces have very soft and elegant silhouettes. From the images you can tell just how much work has gone into the clothing with such great lines, proportions, and workmanship.

Since I was one of three photographers I approached the runway with a different mindset. The other photographers took the ends of the runway, which are the preferred locations. Since they’ll have captured the clothing and models in all their beauty and in colour, I’ve gone black and white and focused on how it feels to be watching the show from the sidelines. Although I would have liked to actually shoot at a lower angle to give you a true feeling of being there, mesmerized by the clothing, I didn’t want my flash to blind people directly. Instead, I stepped onto my chair and leaned up against the wall.

I’ll admit, I missed some shots because I was too busy looking at the clothes or watching the reactions of the audience as the models walked the runway.

You can also check out some photos of her fashion in colour.
