New York City: Travel Photography with Made by Ten

I took a trip to New York not long ago. I believe it’s the third time I’ve been there. The last time was with my fiancee at the time and my best friend and his wife. I had also taken photos when I was touring the city, but I honestly didn’t have as much control of my camera at the time. Photography is so accessible that sometimes even I (as a professional photographer) forget just how much there is to learn. Unfortunately, the learning part can take quite a while because the best lessons come from mistakes.

From the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) it really isn’t too bad of a drive. With a few washroom and gas-up stops we made it there in good time. Keep reading for even more photos.

Something I did with this trip and something I will continue to do is to be more selective with my shots. Before becoming a professional photographer I took snapshots. Essentially this is to document a trip quickly with little care for composition. I could be taking photos in half-stride and it wouldn’t bother me. Although I still did some of that, I made a concerted effort to look for the perfect shots.

You’ll probably recognize a lot of these places if you’ve been to New York City, but hopefully my perspective is a little different. Whether that means you’ll look at scenes differently when you travel or you just enjoy looking at them, I’m happy!
